Madera-based Engineers Develop Housing for Innnovative Produce Tracker Apr 14, 2010  APRIL 14, 2010 - MADERA, CA - Blue Dolphin Design and Engineering, Inc., in conjunction with TRUETRAC, Inc., has designed and developed an innovative Field Box for the recently launched LABELTRAC produce tracking system.
The Field Box houses a LABELTRAC bar code programmer and printer used by field worker to label produce boxes during the harvest process. The label tracks produce from the field to the store where it will be sold.
In cases of suspected food contamination, LABELTRAC will allow health officials to quickly track down and remove specific boxes instead of unnecessarily destroying entire shipments. Many grocery suppliers are demanding this type of visibility to achieve compliance with the industries Produce Traceability Initiative.
While TRUETRAC developed by the system and its software, Blue Dolphin engineers developed and assembled the Field Box and power components. For this project, Blue Dolphin President Mark Jackson created a unique Power Supply capable of automatically sensing 12V DC input or 120V AC input used by various printers.
The first shipments, purchased by the multi-billion dollar Bunzl Corporation, went out in late March.
