John graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Other areas of study include Aeronautical Engineering, Manufacturing, and Welding. He has received his EIT certification (engineer in training). While in school, he worked on the design, headed fabrication, and raced Human Powered Vehicles in five ASME competitions.
John's professional experience includes mining equipment design, structural sheet metal design, injection molding, testing and analysis, product development and prototyping, hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems. He has a background in SolidWorks, CosmosWorks, Pro/Engineer, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Matlab software. In addition to theoretical and design work, he is also well versed in welding (TIG, MIG, Oxy-fuel), manual and CNC machining, 4WD/automotive fabrication and restoration, and composites fabrication.
John brought his creativity, and hands-on experience to Blue Dolphin Design and Engineering in 2007.
